My son loves this book. The book has excellent content and the coloring is great. The issue is the book falls apart if you use it a lot. I've had the book for 3 months and the back page has fallen off. The two pull tabs in the book have ripped and are unusable. The glitter on the "Fortress of Solitude" looks good, but the glitter falls off when you touch it. The book is good, but it falls apart to easily.

My husband has been really into all the super heroes ever since he was little, as I'm sure a lot of boys were and probably still are. I really knew nothing about them until I decided to purchase my two year old a couple. I gave them to her for Christmas and she really took to them. We both really enjoy reading them together and have both learned so many name of superheroes and what their powers are. But what I love most about these books, is that its not really all about the superhero, they teach lessons, and they teach things like colors, shapes, words, counting, and body parts. They really are wonderful books - I let my daughter choose one of these books every night and we read together at bed time. My toddler and I started collecting all of them and we both get really excited when they arrive in the mail. My daughter started to think that the mail man was just giving them to us as gifts, as if I didn't have to buy them lol. We have collected every one and they are releasing another one next week which we have already pre ordered and are super excited about. The books are a great price and arrive quickly. I hope they continue to make these books because we really love collecting them and enjoy reading them. She is even starting to remember the words and "reads" along with me!

My 15 month old son absolutely loves this book and wants us to read it to him all the time! The book is funny and well made. Our three year old loves it too. My son brings the book to me all the time asking me to read it, and now he often sings, "SUP er MAN!" If you're looking for an awesome baby book for a boy, this is the one!

My son LOVES this book. He's only 20 months so I'm sure he'll get more use out of it when he's older. The only downside to this book is that we're now on our second one due to the first breaking. A couple of the pages have small tabs that control the panels in the pages and they're easily broken like other reviewers have said. The glitter on the fortress of solitude page isn't a problem for us, it's my sons favorite page. I would have to say maybe wait until after a child is 3 or 4 years old for this book.

I bought this book for my 20 month old son to read. He really seems to enjoy the interactive pages, and they did a good job of making the book interesting. However, of the 5 or so pages, two have pull tabs, and within a few weeks my son had ripped them both off simply by pulling them. They aren't easy to pull, so they get bent and then tear on the bend. One tab where Superman uses his X-Ray vision on a brick wall had the entire insert pulled out, as it is not very sturdy for a young child. I fixed them up with staples and tape, but am unsure how much longer they'll last. While I would still suggest this book, I would advise the buyer to proactively reinforce the tabs with some thick, clear packaging tape before it tears. Also, in regard to the glitter covered page that others have complained about, that is actually the page my son likes the best. If you think you'd have an issue with it, simply run a vacuum hose with a brush attachment over it a few times and any excess glitter would be removed. Problem solved.Five stars for the fun book, but minus a star each for the easily torn tabbed pages.

When my three year old who's crazy about superheroes, wanted to get his little brother a book about Superman, I searched and found this. The pages are nice and thick, easy for little fingers to turn. The illustration is great with good embellishments for young readers like the rippling muscles or the fur on Krypto.I'm taking away one star for the following two issues: There is a sparkly page for the Fortress of Solitude which looks great but seems to lose a glitter to sticky little fingers and the pull tab to make Clark Kent run into the phone booth and emerge as Superman is too tough for little hands to pull. It's so tough that within a day the tab had been ripped off by my older son as he attempted to read to his little brother. It's just a bit too delicate for a kids book and I fear the other x-ray pull tab feature will reach the same fate eventually. In fact, I can't think of any other books for this age group that we own that have that kind of feature.Aside from those issues the book itself is great for little ones, I just wish the publisher had considered that it's not just moms and dads who would be handling it.*Edit* 4/1/13Shortly after posting the review I emailed the company to mention the issue with the torn page. They were very helpful and even offered to send me another book. I took them up on that and am anxiously awaiting the replacement, which we'll try to avoid damaging it quite so quickly.

This is a unique book. It's built to take rough handling from an 8 year old. He loves Superman as well as Spiderman and he can appreciate the touch and feel of the materials that are in the story. We both like this book!

We own this whole series of books - this and the Batman book were the last ones I purchased though, because I usually try to avoid books with the "pull tabs" as they are notoriously easy to destroy...and this one is no exception. The page with superman's x-ray vision has never even worked properly, and the page where he changes in the phone booth (while it's a great concept), is tight and hard to push through - I'm thinking ours even came damaged, as there is no pull tab for it.I have no real complaint about the glitter on the page with the Fortress of Solitude, but I do think it may have made more sense to have the glitter laminated onto the page.It isn't too wordy and holds my daughter's attention, especially with the touch and feel features, while teaching her the basics on Superman and his powers.
