I bought this because my son doesn't like to read, but he got a pvz comic with a toy and loved it. So I gave these a try and he has read all of them. It's nice to look over and see him reading and laughing out loud at these books. Also my son is 8, but I think kids much younger and older would enjoy these as well, especially if they play the games.
My 9 year old loves these books. They arrived early this week and he has read them over and over again since then. When we were at the bookstore he saw another one from the series. Pretty soon another boy who had refused to read before, was sitting by David reading them too.
My 5 yr old son is addicted to all things Plants vs Zombies. I was looking for reading material to encourage him to read more and I struck gold with this series. I purchased the set of 3 books and we've had them for over a month now and he still reads them every day. He reads them on his own and we read them together at bedtime. Because my son is an early read, some of the fonts used are a little harder for him to read but otherwise he able to read most of it on his own. The graphics are awesome and the stories are great too. There's even one that addresses zombie school bullying!
Great fun to read aloud to an almost six-er. You MUST do the sound effects and appropriate voices for maximum effect and lots of giggles. (Both the reader and the listener.) It's appropriate for all-ages, so nothing is really offensive. It's very clear the zombies are the bad guys and very clear that Zomboss is the one responsible.
These were purchased as a present for my 11 year old son. He absolutely loved them and has reread them a few times now. Graphics are done well and are appropriate for his age range.
My son loves this set. At the bookstore, each book was $10, so $30 for 3, but this set was $20 for the same 3 books!
Our Son (8) has read these again and again. One of his favorite book sets at the moment.
