National Geographic Readers: Wolves
Read Free Books and Download eBooks

They run in packs, stalk their prey, and howl at the moon. And no matter where you are--they're always lurking somewhere nearby. Wolves, the predatory puppy dogs of the wild, are feared and loved by people everywhere. But are they misunderstood? In this fascinating level 2 reader, you'll learn that there's much more to being a wolf than most people could ever believe. Did you know that each pack has a pecking order? That wolves can "talk" to each other using body language? Or that they're actually not out to attack humans, they usually leave people well enough alone? Full of incredible photographs and interesting information, NGR Wolves will appeal to all kids.

I work on a school bus and use books to help kids pass the time till we reach where we are going. I have two wolf books on my bus for kids 5 to 10 years of age. One is Wolves for kids and the other is this one National Geographic Wolves. They like this one better because the Photo's are better and there was more too it. I am slowly getting more books like this one for them and looking forward to seeing their smiles when they see the new books.

If your child is 5-8, then this is the intended age of this short book. Some of the reviewers here said it was for too little of kids and their older children didn't like it.The description clearly says this is for ages 5-8, so if you're buying it for a ten or twelve year old, be prepared for a bored and disinterested kid.Great pictures and not too much highly detailed information, our daughter has read it probably 200 times, no exaggeration. This was a distant second but a much safer option than her first birthday pick, and actual live wolf.We have bought these National Geographic readers before and have always been happy.

purchased as a Christmas gift for my 8 year old who loves wolves.. my daughter reads 2 levels above her grade, and i feel safe in saying that she will still enjoy this book and the facts in it. I feel confident purchasing a book from the Smithsonian for her in hopes that she may learn something new about her favorite animal. The pictures are good, and the reading is fairly easy. I like the different formatting of the reading - quizzes, facts, etc. It is not just a straight read from beginning to end. I was worried this would be too easy for my daughter however upon seeing this book in person, I am confident she will be able to learn something new and enjoy the book all at the same time.

I bought several of this books for my children, they love them so much that they have now a big collection, and I love the fact that they actually read them and are learning a lot, they come with different reading levels for each child reading skills.

My 2 year old LOVES this entire series of Nat. Geo Readers... I have purchased about 25 different titles, "pre-readers" as well as Level 1 & 2 readers. She loves them all & will ask for certain ones. The "pre-readers" level books are extremely simple & great because she memorizes the words & can "read" it herself. We love the more advanced ones too, because there is more information to talk about. I have learned quite a few facts, myself!) What a great series. The price is reasonable & pictures are great. These are really getting her interested in nature, animals & science... I will continue to buy these as they are released, for our collection!

I would give it a 5 star for it is an excellent book for a kid but because of shipping errors it was sent to my home in Jacksonville Florida instead of my Grandsons home int Uncasville Ct. Between it and the Wolf that I bought that was also shipped to my home I had to come up with $59.00 out of my fixed income to ship the from my home to where they should have gone so that my grandson would have his Christmas present from his grandparents.

National Geographic books are perfect for teaching little ones about the world. I have purchased all of them for my grand-daughter, and they never disappoint, highly recommended for children of all ages.

Beware this book is for young kids. I did not realize this when it was bought for a ten year old. It was great book if only she was 6. I did not return i will just give it to charity this Christmas
