This book set was not what I was expecting. I have purchased two other "Step into Reading" sets. (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Paw Patrol). Each book in those sets is dedicated to a short vowel sound or a long vowel sound. The Thomas books are not organized that way. Long vowel sounds are not addressed. The few long vowel words are called sight words. These books are very colorful and may be perfect for a very early reader. They are much simpler than the other sets. I will be gifting this set to a younger boy I know.
This little Thomas phonic book set is so cute. It comes with little books that have easy sight words and great beginner phonic words. We have this set in addition to the Paw Patrol, tonka construction and another one I can't think of.. But this brand is great for reading with ages 3 and up. I started reading these with my 3 year old and he memorizes the words after one or two times. Nice quality and they all come in a little box to keep organized.
My 3 year old really likes them. Short. Easy to follow. Perfect for his attention span.
