This is partly my fault for ordering the book so quickly when I saw the awesome deal. I got sick of reading Brown Bear Brown Bear a million times a day, so I decided to stock up on new books. I'm hoping this one is the only disappointment. I didn't realize exactly what was meant by top half, bottom half, this is not a book to read but more of an activity. My 17 month old son LOVES stories and reading books before bed, so this won't serve our purpose at all. That said, I'm sure in a year or so it will be a very easy way to entertain him and keep him still for a period of time.

I feel like the books is geared more towards preschool age instead of toddler. The book is split inside and the color on top does not match the color on the bottom. I know for older kids it would be fun for them to help match the top and bottom but for ones on the younger end it's a little confusing.

Eric Carle books are the very best for reading to chilren of all ages!!!! The beautiful colors in the illustrations, the amazing way it's written allows the children to interact!!!!Love, love, love reading these to my grandchildren...and give as gifts!!!

a stunning book about matching colors to different animals - the book is divided in half so you can keep the word "red" at the top, then flip through the book to match everything that is red - Eric Carle is, as usual, wonderful

Eric Carle is known for bright pictures and simple text. Here is a book that will be good for children starting at under a year. Children can develop languages skills talking about the colors and the different items that go with them.

I've pretty much never been disappointed in an Eric Carle book... I particularly like this one because it's split across the middle so your child can match the color pages to the correct colored animal. Very happy

I bought this book for my son when he was one. His favorite book from infancy was Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See? and so I thought it would be good to get him another book by the same author. I was disappointed when I found it was way too advanced for him and he had no interest in it. However, now that he is older (27 months), this book is his favorite! He is just starting to be able to match the colors with the pictures. We read it every night together and with each night, his memory and comprehension grows. I am so happy with this book and glad I didn't give up on it earlier.

I came across this book at our local bookstore and fell in love with it. I started using it in my preschool class, and now it's the kids' most favorite book! We start with a color on the top and then go through the pictures down below to find the one that matches asking the same question for each picture, "Is the lemon red? Noooooooo!" We do this until we match the right picture with the right color, and the kids ages 18 months to 3 years eat it right up. They love it!! I was surprised by some of the not-so-favorable reviews of this book...it's a HUGE favorite around my house and in my class!
