I really like this book because it is easy to read. It also is helping me learn German. I think children's books are a wonderful way for one to learn a new language because it gives one a chance to become acquainted with new vocabulary.
The concept is good, but at least in the Kindle edition, my students (3-5th graders) find it confusing that Joseph in the German becomes Jakob in the English, although it's the same boy. The traditional English idiom for what is going on would be "In one ear and out the other," which could beneficially be referenced somewhere,as could be more modern, computer-programming based, "garbage in, garbage out." As it stands, they find it a big confusing (unlike "Bin ich klein," which goes over very well with them.

Cute book.
I have been studying German for several years, primarily to be able to read the language. This book is much too short to have any real value, even for young children, except to the seller. I imagine the plan is to keep producing little books of less than a dozen phrases, at $.99 each, hoping that people will be drawn into buying an entire series.

Disappointing. Nice drawings but the story does not make sense. It has one short phrase per page and, additionally, Joseph in the German becomes Jakob in the English! I cannot recommend this book.
It may be good for learning some new German words but it makes no sense. It is very short. I was disappointed
