If you can get your child interested in learning a foreign language, this is a good, inexpensive first start. (I can't get mine into it). For a young child, it's just enough to get them speaking phrases the very first day. There is a pronunciation guide right there on every page, so kids don't have to search for hints on how to say the words. They can color and practice saying the phrases. Great approach. They won't become fluent, but if you can get their interest here, it might spark a deeper desire to language learning. Although, I can't get my daughter to be interested, you might be able to get your child or grandchild interested. This is a great way to find out if your child has the interest and or inclination to learn a foreign language, without breaking the bank. Good luck. Bonne Chance!
I love these little books. Yes, they are small but they are a dollar-fifty to two bucks. Great purse and travel books to keep a kid busy, or, the reason I bought this - a little fun thing to go along with school stuff.
Bone-zhawr - seriously? Who says Bone-zhawr when pronouncing Bonjour? The pronunciation guide is terrible. The book is also tiny... I guess I didn't notice this when I purchased it.The illustrations are cute and give an older child the opportunity for colouring. The phrases are basic and good.
Nice for kids. An entertainign way to get my kids (who already talk english and spanish) to learn french. Still needs some adult tutors to help and the size of the book is not huge, but we like it. The kids will have it for Christmas, so not much I can comment yet on how well it was received by them.
Small book about the size of a woman's hand. 62 pages to color and write in. It has Pronunciation below each french phrase, making it easier to say, along with english translation at bottom. It covers numbers, colors, days of the week, months of the year, and many commonly used phrases. It's a good book for the price. Only downside is it's size.
Great little books for little hands. I bought these for my younger French class and they loved it! The book has the phrase in English, French and then a little "cheat" underneath that tells you how to pronounce it phonetically, which the parents were most grateful for.
This book is much smaller than I expected but it is great for children learning french. My daughter is 8 and is speaking french very well and this book helps teach common phrases to children and allows them to color. The price is pefect and I am overwhelmingly satisfied with this book! As I said it is very small, only about a 4" x 4" book.
I would had given a 5 star rating, reason why I did not was, it was so small. I was expecting a bigger book this one is around pocket size. The way the words are pronounced are easy do to the ease of sounding them out. We loved the my child was able to say many words in French after using this book. Like I said the biggest problem is only with the size, which was not readily told about.
