I purchased this book for my granddaughter. Her maternal grandparents are Chinese and can not read English. This book made it possible for her Grandfather to read to her. At first he just read the Chinese story. As my granddaughter got older she began to read the English words to him. I often read the book to her when she was little and now read it to her younger sister. This would be a great book for anyone with a child adopted from China or who has Chinese family members.
We love all the Mandy and Pandy books. But this one has a strange setup.The rhythmic reading style works for the Mandarin version, but not the English version. I feel like they should've matched the English to the Chinese then it would've worked better.So, I just skip the CD and read it the way I think would've worked better.
