Explore the worlds of six languages with this introductory FLEX program Invitation to Languages by Schmitt introduces six major world languages: Spanish, French, Italian, German, Latin, and Japanese. Make your students’ first exposure to world languages one they’ll never forget with this unique, engaging program. Show them the fun, adventure, and personal growth that come from knowing and experiencing other languages and cultures. Also included is an introduction to the concept of languages in general. Speaking and listening are stressed, while reading and writing are minor parts of the program. Many activities involve group work or physical activities. Customize your program with standalone units, each devoted to one language and containing several theme-based lessons. Discover the additional coverage of Spanish and French. The chapters covering these most-taught languages are expanded, offering approximately twice as many theme-based lessons. Expand your lessons with additional information found in the Teacher Edition on how to present these languages.

This book has some information on basic vocabulary for a few languages. I was hoping to get more cultural information as well. I bought this for the World Exploratory Language class I teach, but it really includes basic greetings, numbers, etc. Certainly if that's what you're looking for, great, but I can't imagine teaching the same thing 6 times over. I will have to keep looking for a different resource.

Good comparative book for kids
