The 2014 version of Sudoku Page a Day is fun, with one thing from 2013 that made it less fun.The 2014 calendar is set up as follows:Monday - EasyTuesday - EasyWednesday - MediumThursday - MediumFriday - HardSaturday - HardSunday - Very Easy.The Saturday and Sunday puzzles are on the same page, which means small squares. This made it quite difficult to work the Saturday puzzle, since it's a hard one. I much preferred having easy puzzles for both Saturday and Sunday, which is how 2012 and earlier calendars were set up.Gone are the spatial Sudoku puzzles, which were part of the 2013 calendar. I found those to be tough, so I don’t miss them.The good things about this calendar:* The pre-filled numbers are always symmetrical, e.g. 3 numbers in the far top right column and 3 numbers in the far top left column. It was fun to see what pattern each day had.* With the exception of Saturday and Sunday, which are on the same page, the squares are big enough to write in potential numbers if you need to do so.I didn't find the Hard puzzles to be that hard, so I think even Sudoku beginners would enjoy this calendar. The large squares for the weekdays also make it easy to fill in the numbers.In spite of the Hard puzzle being on a Saturday, I still recommend this calendar to all Sudoku fans.
I do my puzzle everyday so that I can avoid human contact in the breakroom. 365 days of fun. Text is a good size, all 9 boxes are different colors and easy to follow. Sat/sun are on one page, solutions on back.
I've never bought a Page-A-Day Calendar before, but I'm pretty satisfied with this one. Some of the sudoku puzzles are too difficult for me, but others may find them just right. Also if I miss a few days then I feel like I need to save the pages and finish the puzzles later, but that might just be my problem. Anyway, I recommend this product.
This calendar has some great features. One Sudoku a day is about right for me. The pages of this calendar is separately printed so you can solve your Sudoku easily on a large page with plenty of room to write in the blocks. The colored block make it a bit easier to see the distinctions. The puzzles start off easy early in the week and get progressively more difficult as the week proceeds.
This is my third Sudoko desk calendar of this same type, and I enjoy them so much. The puzzles range from easy to hard, and can be challenging at times, keeping my mind occupied and brain strengthened. I love the grid size, and the number size makes it easy to work with ... they also would make great gifts.
My best friend is a huge Sudoko fan, so I purchased this as a gift for her. When it came in I opened the box, and decided to keep it for myself. The colors are a lot of fun, and the puzzles get harder as the week goes on. I love this, and now I have to order a new one for my friend.
It was just what was wanted and it serves its purpose of concentration and entertainment. When the TV programs are bad the Sodoku is a great substitute. It's great that carries the Page-A-Day Calendar because its hard to find anywhere else.
My 66 yr old husband has been doing this Sudoku calendar continuously for 5 years. He enjoys them, even though he skips some of the easier ones and it takes him a few days to do the harder ones. They start out easier at the beginning of each week and get more difficult as the days go on. The individual, unbound pages are well printed and easy to read. Our 3 yo grandson has observed him ding these in the evening, and now he wants to do the number game like papa. We ordered some kid level Sudoku for him. My father in law had Alzheimer's so my husband likes to do brain puzzles with the hope of warding off symptoms.
