This is a lovely addition to the Madeline group of books. As all those following the original, it begins with the typical "In an old house it Paris all covered with vines. . .", but then begins a new adventure. This one introduces Pepito in which he tries to ruin the darling tea party hosted by Madeline.Sweet story and musical rhymes, as usual.It is not a hard cover book like many others; it is the less expensive paper version, but the price reflects it.
Love this book as well as Madeline and her Dog. My daughter has read both of these dozens of times. This book is just the right kind of challenge for a first grader and it still has a plot to it that makes it a wonderful story. I really hope they add more Madeline books to this series!
This book is a wonderful leveled reader. I love the penguin readers for my daughter who is in Kindetgarten. This story is simple for the advanced Kindergartner to read and also has a storyline that can keep the kids I interested. I hope they make more of these. The ending is very sweet and talks about forgiving a friend.
my 3 year old granddaughter thought this book was funny. She loves the "Pepito" character andhis interaction with "Madeline" Teaches good manners, forgiveness and friendship. I highly recommend it.
I ordered this along with a Madeline doll as a gift for my granddaughter. I made a dress from a knit fabric for the doll so she looked like Madeline in this story. My GD loved it so much her mom found her the next morning in the living room watching TV with the doll and her "party" dress on her lap. GD loves to read and especially loves the Madeline series.
We love Madeline. These are perfect first chapter books. The rhyming story helps emergent readers to find their rhythm. These stories are cute and keep my 2nd graders interest. She was very excited that they were chapter books.
Ludwig would be very displeased with this dull story. It is not about a tea party- it is about the "brat" next door.
My daughter (22 months) loves this book. She loves Pepito. We have probably read this 50 times since we got it a week ago. I like it because it isn't boring and it nicely rhymes, and the drawings match the original Madeline so well. I can't help laughing every time I get to the "cloud of gloom" line, though.
