Welcome to the Puppy Place--where every puppy finds a home! Charles and Lizzie Peterson love puppies.  They want a puppy of their own more than just about anything.  They know dogs are a lot of work.  But their mom still doesn't think their family is ready for a puppy. Then, Goldie arrives.  She is a sweet golden retriever that needs a home.  Goldie is very young. She doesn't know how to be a good puppy yet.  Will Charles and Lizzie be able to help her?

We are always looking for chapter books for our daughter (age 7). She has always been an excellent reader reading well above her age group and gets through books quickly. That is great, but challenging when trying to keep up with her and looking for good chapter books for her age. We focus primarily on positive stories and avoid series with less appropriate language or attitudes. The Puppy Place series has been great. My daughter is crazy about all kinds of pets, especially dogs. This a fun series about a family that fosters puppies while they are waiting for a family to adopt them. Each book features a different type of puppy and teaches the reader about all the different kinds of dogs. This book is centered around Goldie, a golden retriever puppy. This is the first book in the series and introduces the Peterson family. The Petersons are considering a puppy of their own, but decide to try out fostering to see if their family is up to the task of pet ownership. My daughter has been going through these quickly, often completing a book in a single sitting because she really gets into them. The books keep her interest and she really enjoys the stories. It is best to start with the first book, Goldie, to get some background story. After that, you can go in pretty much any order, or read them in a row. The nice thing is that this series has a lot of books available already (30+ at the time of this review and more coming). We always run out of books, so a big series like this is great. Highly Recommended!
