This book explains about how the human body deals with reflexes. It gets a little technical, but a four or five year old can definately understand the content. I enjoyed reading this book to my children because even I learned a little that I either had not learned or had forgotten.
We read this book with our 3 year old and our 7 year old. They both like it. Neither is overly interested in science but this book does a good job relating to children, educating and yet keeping it interesting. They like to shout out "reflex" anytime someone has a reflex (sneeze, yawn, etc.) for a couple of days after reading the book. Well worth it and fun for parents too.
To explain things at a child's level is very important.I have no complaints about this book.Parents ofpre-schoolers and schoolers should give this a try,it's worth it!Educational:grammar, science, facts etc.
My 6 yr old son prefers nonfiction books and it can be tough to find them on his level. He loves all the books from this series.
There are a lot of these little books and they all are very well done. Our kids love the idea of getting to know about SCIENCE. The 7th grade teachers I work with even use it with their kids in Science class. Try From Tadpole to Frog (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 1).As I am adding product links I see that has over 600 titles in this series listed!
Although it was a bit long to hold attention (mostly the other adults in the room) the kids seemed to get a lot out of it, asking questions and remembering when they had been in a similar situation as the person in the throws of the problem. Kids and adults learned from it in our house.
I received the book on time and it is appropriate for my daughter who is three and very much into science and skeletons.
Kids 4 to 6 will find this an entertaiing read with easy to follow illustrations all about why their bodies react the way they do!... informative for parents also, takes out the guesswork.
