I work as a counselor at a school. This book is a hit whenever & with whomever I read it too. Each page has a question, WOULD YOU RATHER..... then there are 2 choices. It's particularly fun in groups, to hear the different answers and reasoning. My only complaint is that I need to choose carefully which ones I read aloud. Many references to eating rotten food, living among rats, drinking sweat, ick! Some questions are too disgusting to discuss in a group and some may hit too close to home for the lower socioeconomic students. If you weed out the inappropriate ones for kids, the rest is a riot & fun for all. There's also fun facts at the bottom of each page. I would recommend this for ages 7-70. Well, maybe not for grandma.
I purchased this for my 10 year old for Christmas. He loves it! He and his friends are constantly asking one another made up 'would you rather' questions. Now, they have 400 more to ask.I really like the facts at the bottom of each page, without those, this book wouldn't be as much of a learning experience for kids. It really gets them thinking, talking, learning and laughing!
I make my living as a substitute teacher. I use this book at the end of day as a reward for good behavior--I'll announce a scenario from the book and have the kids either raise their hands for their choice, or go to a side of a room depending on what their answer would be. Kids from K-7 love it and always ask me if I brought the "Would you rather book" when I come. There are milder choices for the younger kids, and absolute gross out choices for the older ones to pick
This box is really hard to come by at our local bookstore. I ordered for my second grader as she saw it in school. The book is small (about 4-6inches) but very thick. It has given her hours of entertainment already.
The book itself was entertaining to my nine-year old. The poor review is because the pages came loose from the binding during the first read and the book essentially fell into pieces. How disappointing!
Purchased for grandson instead of the card game by the same name because of the educational comments at the bottom of the page about the question. I think it can be used as a game by passing the book around to quiz each other. Gross questions boys will love.
Still enjoying this book after many years. Used to read it to my son; now he reads it to me. I am so sad there is no sequel! Absolute can't miss gift.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. I bought this book after seeing some of the scenarios on a Denny's kids menu. We had fun with those, so I figured the book would be more of the same. I was wrong. I had to skip over 90% of them because they were just plain disgusting. I wouldn't even recommend this for older kids. It's not "fun" at all. Very disappointed.
