Born in a little cabin in Tennessee, Dolly Parton always dreamed big, and she was right to! She wrote her first song at age five and became a country music star by the time she was in her early twenties. Of course, her success didn't stop there. Dolly Parton is also an actress, author, businesswoman, and philanthropist whose "Imagination Library" reading initiative reaches children throughout the US, Canada, and the UK. There is simply no one like Dolly Parton!

I got this to introduce my French students to the legend that is Dolly Parton. They loved it, but I on my side rediscovered the woman. It is suitable and easy to read for any age. On top,it is up to date and deals with the good times as well as the bad times. Inspirational.

My kids all love Dolly Parton. They know her from the Imagination Library. My 11 year old wanted to do a report on her so we waited until this book came out. It has lots of fun stories from her childhood that I had never heard. Would recommend it.

I'm a life long Dolly Parton fan and love this book. Her story is touching and inspirational so happy to see a bio for kids but it's also an easy fun read for grown ups also. I got this for a Christmas gift for my mom who also loves Dolly. I hope they will make one on Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lalanne and Lucille Ball someday. Marilyn would especially be nice to see.

As a third grade teacher, I love using Who Was/Who Is books in the classroom for independent reading activities. Students love reading about Dolly Parton. As a native Tennessean, I love teaching them about Dolly and all she has done to help her hometown. It proves that one person can make a huge difference. I highly recommend this book!

A very good book. A must have for any Dolly Parton fan. It covers her entire life & career. Took about 2 hours to read. I flew right through it. I found out too that Dolly doesn't like to fly. She dislikes air planes.

Fabulous book!!! We love all the Who Is books and I read them first and then my 8 year old daughter reads them and we talk about it. It is perfect, takes me no time at all and she has totally enjoyed them. And well Dolly Parton - she is just an amazing woman.

Loved it, cute book. Nice short story that tells about what an amazing woman Dolly Parton is and how she accomplished her dreams

I like Dolly's work a great deal. This little book is a good way to introduce Dolly to younger people. This is also useful tool to teach character traits. I like the short and factual books in this series. Well done!
