we LOVE the sheep books!! we now have three, the first one purchased was sheep in a jeep...which my 3 year old, then 2, LOVES still. the second sheep book was sheep trick or treat. Lets just say, for being a short rhyming book, with really no more than maybe 6 words per page (if even that) it takes us 5 to 10 minutes to get through the book simply becasue the pictures and expressions are so fun for my son to talk about. we will continue to add more sheep books to our collection.
We love sheep In a jeep, but honestly this one is a little scary! My 2 year old kept saying, "oh no!!" as we read it. The sheep become shipwrecked and the look on their faces is sheer terror on some pages. We won't be reading again for awhile.
I like the way that it rhymes and the illustrations are well done, but it's kind of a depressing book! Nothing good happens for pages and pages. A little disappointing. One reason it's nice to purchase books in person...
I found these books very entertaining and they are really great for short attention spans, they read very easy and help the child to put together words in sentences. Illustrations are wonderful - overall very good attention keeping children book.
We love the "Sheep" series in our house. Sheep on a Ship is just as cute and fun as all the others; the sheep have an adventure, get into trouble, and then get out of trouble. There aren't a ton of words so young readers can handle it easily and very young listeners don't get bored waiting for you to tell them what's happening. Highly recommend the entire series.
We have a 4yo who has started reading. The first book he read was Sheep in a Jeep and since he enjoyed reading that so much we got him Sheep on a Ship too. The books are fun with tons of rhyme and alliteration so perfect for a new reader. This book comes with a bonus set of instructions in the back on how to make a pirate hat out of newspaper.
My four year old great grandson was so happy to receive his new book. Sheep in a Jeep has long been a favorite and now we have another story to enjoy with the friendly sheep. We love them.
cute enough. not my favorite 'sheep' book. this one isn't nearly as charming as the others. i wish i'd read it before purchasing; if i had, i probably wouldn't have bought it.
