My favorite book as a kid. I looked at all the cross sections until I knew every detail of each of the ships, including where all the people were in the ship and what they were up to. From memory I believe there are cross sections in it of the Mayflower, HMS Bounty, , an aircraft carrier, a fishing trawler, a British Man of War, a fire rescue boat and a WWI battleship which is on the cover. On each page is background on each such as their use and history.
These books are amazing. Anybody who opens these books has to be impressed with the detail and insight you can get. Young or old these books are great. Would be a great coffee table book for grownups.
Extraordinary for children and adults. There is more scholarship in this picture book than most of us would have the privilege of knowing.
