My eight year old enjoyed this book very much.It tells the story of person who was on the Titanic and, as the reader, you get to make decisions to see how you would have fared if you were in her shoes. The whole family read it and tried different choices to see how they changed our fate. It was a good way to learn about the Titanic and have a fun reading adventure - the uncertainty of the different ending make it an appealing read and we looked for others in the series after enjoying this one.

It really is all about survival when you read Can You Survive the Titanic? As the reader, you get to choose which path the plot will take and ultimately, if the characters will live or die in the Titanic disaster. Talk about some power! There are three different plot paths to choose from. Those branch out and there are twenty-one different endings. Wowza! I am the curious type and I am reviewing the book, so I read them all and ended up a little confused. For someone just reading one or two choices though, the plot would easily make sense.Middle graders will have fun making choices and learning more about the Titanic's fateful voyage. I appreciate the amount of research done by the author.RATING4 LikedCOVER COMMENTSThis cover conveys the desperation of the Titanic passengers as they struggle to survive. Look at that ship going down in the background!

My youngest daughter (age 10) is so into these books. She loves trying out different choices to see where it leads.

Maybe not a perfect fit for younger students (some passengers "don't make it") They did enjoy being able to be interactive during the story.

Awesome

I really enjoyed this book. For this historical event, it's fun to see how choices led to different outcomes upon the Titanic. Most history is taught as a particular outcome, this shows how contingent history is on choices people make in real time and that different people experience history differently.I also enjoyed the "Why did some survive," portraits of survivors, glossary and quiz--providing more detail beyond the experience of the story.I bought this for my Kindle and viewed it on iPad as well. While I generally prefer the Kindle as a reader, at least the illustrations were in color on the iPad. On the Kindle, they were grey-scale. Their quality was not as bad as illustrations from other books that I've seen on the Kindle, so they exceeded my expectations. But the iPad was still a better reading experience. My only criticism of the book has to do with the residual disappointment I have that this was not an "enhanced" eBook. Embedded video and sound would have been a lot of fun. That wouldn't have worked on the Kindle reader, but would have been fun on an iPad or Kindle Fire. More pics would have been nice too.I think this whole interactive series is doing is great. It leverages the interactivity that the format makes possible, makes the reader literally own the outcome of the story, and it's engaging. I hope to see a lot more of this type of innovation in the future!

This book is just as good as time traveling to the time of the titanic sinking. Reading it really let me understand how it must have been being on the titanic. I recommend this book to anyone who likes history or a bit of action.
