Had to peak at this book before I wrapped it up for my son. He's in love with Legos & reading... so I figured this would be a great stocking stuffer. I know he won't be disappointed. Wanted a book that he could read on his own, without any help. And glancing through the book... he should be able to do just that.

This book is set in a harbor and focuses around a bunch of the Lego sea craft. The story is about a surfer who gets into trouble and the coast guard must come to the rescue. Like most of the Lego City books, this one has bright vibrant colors. It's a story to help children develop their reading skills and is a fun story to be enjoyed by the whole family. I believe this is the first of the Lego City books by Easton and Kiernan and they have done a great job matching the look and feel of the series but having their own distinct contribution. The Leveled readers are great books for young children. They are designed to progress as a child's reading improves. There are hundreds of titles in these formats, even across different publishers. What makes this particular series, The Lego City Adventures, so good, is that little kids will be attracted to them because of the format and style. These books are bright, vibrant, and colorful stories with fun illustrations. As a Level 1 reader geared for Kindergarten to Grade 1, this book is intended to help with sight word recognition, and sounding out simple words and sentences.

This is a nice way to encourage beginning reading, especially if someone likes Legos! I don't think I will be buying the other more advanced readers that have a Lego theme, because they are more action packed.

I like this book. I give it 5 stars because it is reallyfun to read, easy read, and good. What did you like about the book:I like that the sailors helped the windsurfer. What is your favorite character:The captain is my favorite character. What happens in the book:There are a captain, and some sailors on the boat. They see a windsurfer in trouble. They help the windsurfer. What is the characters job in the book:The Captain's job is to take care of the boat. The sailors job is to help on the boat. The windsurfer is having fun.

My 5yo son loves all of these "easy" reader lego books. Illustrations are bright and full of detail. Once he starts reading, they will be of the perfect length and simplicity.

I got this for my nephew and he was really excited to receive it. He's in Kindergarten and starting to read so this is perfect for him, plus it's about his favorite things, boats!

The characters are a little silly but I think that's what's appealing to these books. My 3yr old son has several of the Lego City book series and practically has them memorized.

This is the exciting story of the dramatic rescue of a wayward windsurfer. If you want a story that will thrill LEGO fans of the younger ages, then this book is for your family!
