My two boys, ages 5 & 7 really enjoy the Puppy Pirates series. They are easy to follow when I read them to my boys and my oldest could certainly read it himself. We are patiently awaiting the third book to be released.
Good easy reading. Too simple for my third grader, but she loves it. I guess its a bit like an adult reading comics. Sometimes you don't want to be challenged. Good for an early reader.
