Just received this book last night and read it with my 6 year old. He loves these books and was so excited to read a new one!It was easy reading and had interesting facts about a firehouse. We learned about 3 different kinds of fire trucks which he thought was cool and the different tools that are found on the firetrucks.The only thing I would have changed, was the fact that the cousin took them to ride on a fire truck to an actual fire, which was not realistic or safe in my opinion. Other than that, I thought the book was great!Perfect for any BB fan or child that loves firetrucks!This is NOT one of the Berenstain Bears Living Lights/christian books, just FYI.
The story was silly. The Bear Family rides a fire truck to an actual fire? Most of these books are based in some level of reality and moral lesson but this one seemed hastily written. And it could have explored so many important points, like fire safety, but instead it gave an unrealistic tour of a firehouse. When the book was finished, my 3-year-old son amusingly asked me, "That's it??"
The Berenstain Bears books have become quite popular at our house and you couple that with fire trucks and firefighters, it makes for a big hit with a 3.5 year old boy. He only gets 3 stories every night and since we have gotten this book, he has picked it out for two of his three stories for several nights in a row. The story is simple and entertaining, and even a little educational regarding what it is to be a firefighter.
I absolutely love the Berenstain Bears! I read these books to my son, whom is now 23, when he was a little guy, and I read them to my younger son currently, whom is 6 years old. They love them, and I actually get into the stories too. It would be so cool to live in a tree like theirs~ ha,ha! This story is so cute, and it's great to have one about firemen. This is a must add to the Berenstain Bear Book Collections!
Tons of fun for your toddler! A colorful adventure of the Berenstain Bears -- a fun addition to the series. A couple reviewers are comparing this to one of the Berenstain Bears "First Time Books" and don't like that the story isn't believable! No, it's supposed to be a fun way to learn about what firefighters do and how they help us! It's every little kids dream to ride in a firetruck and that's what the whole Bear Family gets to do. Fun!

Any and every Berenstain Bear book is great. All my grandkids liked them. Now, we are starting on the great grandkids. You can't go wrong buying any and all of their books.
