My 6 month old is absolutely in love with "Little Fish." It has a better story and rhyme than some of the other titles in this series and we could not live without it around here. It is sturdy, but easy for my 6 month old to handle by himself and sometimes is the only thing that makes him happy when teething strikes. So glad we found this book.
My granddaughter loves this book. She is 6.5 months old and loves to grab the fish as I read the story. The story is simple enough that she stays focus for the whole book. On some days we add our own words to the story as we read it so that we can enjoy the book longer.
I give this one ONLY because of how much my son loved it. I didn't purchase my copy from but at a bookstore. I let my 6 month old son play with it in his stroller on the walk to the car, which was literally across the street from where we were. In that amount of time, an airway sized chunk of the book managed to disintegrate off of the cheaply-made book causing my son to choke. Luckily we got to him in time as we had an eye on him, but had we left him with that death trap of a baby book any longer, we would've been in a much worse situation. My son has tons of board books that he chews on exactly the same as this one that haven't fallen apart after months of wear, but this one became a dangerous choking hazard after him playing with it for less than 3 minutes. Please be warned that the cardboard material this book is made of might as well just be layers of normal paper put together and sold as a baby-friendly board book. Save yourself the stress of a choking child by either keeping these books away from your child's mouth or just save the money and don't buy them at all.
My friend gave us the cat version of this book. My baby loves it so I bought her the little fish. She seems amused everytime I move the fish with my fingure. She even turned the book back to try to figure out what's behind.But I also find some of the words a little bit unnatural,e.g. "swishy blue".
This is a cute book not a lot of words but he loves the finger puppet. He kisses it and tries to hug it. He brings me this book ALL day long. I have it memorized. He has a pretty big book collection and within the last month he has been showing more interest in listening to books. The shorter the better right now otherwise he runs off.This book is basic but cute esp for when you want to start to read to your little one and they don't quite have the attention span for it. I have a few board books that he loves this being one of this favs mostly due to the finger puppet. I am going to order a few more for him after this review.
We use this book for my six month old son's nighttime story, since at the end of the book (spoilers!) the fish goes to sleep. He loves looking at the puppet, and it keeps his attention a lot better than our non-puppet board books.
Great way to put a smile on baby's face! I was book shopping at Barnes and noble when I showed my 10-month old this puppet book. His face lit up instantly when the fish swayed side to side. Could work to entertain baby during those challenging meal times.
This short, sweet book is a must for little ones. My granddaughter (10 months old) enjoys having this book read to her. She tries to catch the fish to put in her mouth!I recommend any parent or grandparent get this for their precious little one.
