Gossie Plays Hide and Seek was advertised on the back of another Gossie book, and as such, my toddler has been demanding this book ever since we told her the name of it when she pointed to it on the back of that book. Of course, the library didn't carry this, and so, after about 3 months of daily requests, I decided to go ahead and buy a copy. This book reminds me of DOG - it has the same sort of push/pull tabs, and is about the same size. In addition, it has extra sensory features - a scratch and sniff picture, and textures to feel.As other reviewers have mentioned, some of the push/pull pictures are a little flimsy. I think I broke one of them! But my daughter seems to love the book, and as long as she only reads it with my supervision, I think it will last for awhile. There's also a game in the back that essentially follows the storyline of the book, but I haven't played it with her.

My three years old son is a long time Gossie fan and he was absolutely delighted when I brought home this book. It is very similar to Tails, which we also own, in the number and quality of interactive parts, but with the plus of talking about known and well loved characters.Gossie and all of her friends from the other books of the series are playing hide and seek. In every page there are things to touch, tabs to push and pull to make the goslings move, and so on. I especially like the scratch-and-sniff daisies and Ollie's swing at the end of the story. The last two pages give you the pieces to make a small board game, but that was definitely too advanced for my son, although it might be fun for an older kid. After reading this book a few times, my son memorized it and is now able to "read" it to himself, while going through all the activities. We do have to keep his little brother away from it though, because even though the book is quite sturdy, it still cannot take too much abuse.

...has a bunch of flimsy card pieces for a game in the back cover and the little slot to keep them together is pretty flimsy. That said the book itself is very sweet and nicely made and both of our girls really love this book and almost a year later it's still held up really well (they were 2 and 5ish at the time).

I bought this as a gift for my granddaughter's first birthday. Both she and her parents were very happy with it. What's so great about this book?First, it features the whimsical artwork and beloved gosling characters of Olivier Dunrea. If you haven't met Gossie, Ollie, Gertie and Peedie then you're in for a treat. Check for earlier titles by Olivier Dunrea.Second, this book brings together all the novelties of board books into one story. There are flaps to lift, tabs to pull, discs to turn and more to keep little fingers busy. There's even a scratch and sniff spot. You couldn't find a single book for this age group with more fun packed into it!

Our 18 month old is a Gossie lover and we love the quality and variety of this book. There are so many unique moving, textured parts. It is sturdy but in her enthusiasm she has managed to pull off one of the pop out geese. We appreciate the varied images and she especially loves the wheels with moving images you can spin. Personally this is my favorite Gossie book to read with her.

My nine month old grandson LOVED this book. After many many times reading and the working parts of the book rendered non-functioning after his attempts to move the parts himself, he would drag it out time and time again until it literally fell apart. I, of course, bought another one. And much more fun for me as an adult to read over and over.

We purchased this book for our 10 month grandchildren. They love it. In fact, one of them throws a fit when it is taken away.

With a little help your little one will enjoy this book. Great series with great art work. Book would be even better if it was about an inch smaller all around, kind of hard for little one to turn the pages while holding both of them.
