My 7 year old hates hand writing and as a result, balks at any assignment that requires writing. I bought this book hoping it would encourage him to write, and I have not been disappointed. I was planning to use it as part of our home school curriculum next year, but I expect he'll fill it up over the summer. He LOVES it and voluntarily and with no suggestion from me, picks it up and writes stories. The book is filled with 'prompts' - ideas for plots, characters, etc. The only down side is it seems to be more boy oriented, but I highly recommend this book.
Purchased this for our 8 year old daughter who loves to write stories. It has lots of composition tips, and even delves on character development. Beautiful artwork, sturdy paper. I have decided to keep this after she is done as a keepsake. A no-brainer purchase.

This is a great tool for children who are beginner writers. This book has so many fun ideas and writting promts to write about. The book is in a fill in the blank style both for stories and comic strips. I bought one for my son and I love it so much that I plan to buy 3 more for my other children.
