Mind you, I have a 4 year old who is practically obsessed by trains. He lives, eats, sleeps trains. (Literally, he sleeps on Thomas sheets in Chuggington pajamas, clasping his favorite train whistle or train character, with random pieces of track within his covers.) So when this book arrived, I was a little dismayed it contained so much in depth writing about trains. But my son has soaked it all up. We read a few pages at a time, discuss the pictures, and compare to what we already know, only to dive again into the next few pages. If you have a young railfan like me, your child will love it. If you have an older, able reader, the information is great. And if you just want a good nonfiction book for your library, the readability is awesome. Get it -- you won't be disappointed!
These are great books for children learning to read and for children who don't like to read "long: books. Also these books have a ton of information in them that keep my children interested on reading to the next page. I find that my children will read these books over and over again.
I love these series. But most important that my son does. I got 40+ books and he loves to read them (usually it is not that easy to make him read). I got mix of 2-3-4 levels for the second grader, second level is too easy, but it creates some fun and he reads them with pleasure. Love it, I would recommend it.
This book has lots of great photographs! There are many different trains talked about and shown. I gave this book 5/5 stars. It has great information about trains. Children who love trains can read this book and learn a lot about trains but will not be overwhelmed by details.
I purchased this book for my 7 year old grandson. He is wearing out the pages and really seems to love it. That is the bestrecommendation I can give for this book. The only problem I have is now he wants me to buy him trains. This book really startedsomething!!
This is a good book for a train loving 6 year old boy. He is able to read most of it and is motivated to do so because he loves trains so much. A good buy.
The book is well written. My six year old boy is a super fan of all kinds of trains. He picked this book from , and when he received the book, he absolutely loves it, reading it everyday.
If you love trains, or have children or grandchildren who love trains, then this well-written book is the one for you. Enjoy!
