Ron Roy is my 7-year old daughter's favorite author. If your child likes mysteries, the A to Z mysteries or Capital Mysteries are for him/her. I was a bit worked that "Kidnapped" at the Capital would be too scary for my child because of the title. However, she did not find it frightening. The "bad" guys are written in such a way as to make it known that they are bad without them being overly scary. Another great story by Ron Roy!

I have been reading some of Ron Roy's Capital Mysteries books (out of series order) in the evenings, before bed to my six-, seven-, and nine- year old daughters. They've absolutely loved them! We always struggle/fight at which point we have to stop reading. my girls love the suspense and the story so much. I often question myself as to why I choose to read at night, when I'm wanting to settle them down. What an awesome problem to have, huh, they don't want to go to sleep because let want to read! Love it!Roy's books are offer lots of fun and educational opportunities for expanded discussions, whether it be using clues and their own knowledge to form predictions of the what will happen in the story, discussion about words and concepts that may be new for the, yet still appropriate for their ages, or they are introduced to realistic events, locations, and people. In 'Kidnapped at the Capitol,' they were introduced to the Cherry Blossom Festival, the different locations along the Mall, the Air and Space Museum, and we even discussed what SWAT is and the International Space Station. We've already determined that one day, e are going to have to visit Washington DC to see some of what Roy has written about in his books. It's so great to be able have fun, entertaining fictional material that also incorporated authentic leaning of realistic people, places, and things! In his Capital Mysteries, Ton Roy does a great job of this!My only thing I would change (if I had an option) with this series is the author's decision to use the name Casey Marshal for the President's clone. For non-readers of these books (whether child can't read it or whether it's read as a group read-aloud--in my case, it's both) the listener cannot always distinguish if the author is referring to KC, the girl, or Casey, the adult male presidential clone. Independent readers may do better because of the spelling, but even then, some may still get them confused. The story explains the reason for the name dedication, but considering the various ages and the skill-levels of the readers, it creates an unnecessary complexity that I wish was avoided. As the 'reader' during our nightly reading sessions, I have to make the point of distinguishing which character is being referred to for my children...eventually we decided on calling him Phil, just because. :)

My 8-year-old son has enjoyed this book series very much. The reading level is comfortably easy for him and he enjoys solving the mysteries. It keeps him reading and even teaches him some facts at the same time. I recommend this whole series.

"Kidnapped at the Capital" - Capital Mysteries #2 - by Ron Roy.KC and Marshall are best friends. They solve mysteries together.KC's mother gets an invitation to the cherry blossom festival. KC's mom is kidnapped, but KC and Marshall are determined to find her. This is an interesting book, the whole series is fun.

I love A to Z Mysteries and Captain Mysteries. I like this book because it was very juicy it got my eye at it.I think Ron Roy is a fanastic writing . And I hope he will still be writing more fanastic stories like this one.

This is a book about President Z. Thornton.Marschall and KC are kidnapped with KC 's mom and Casey Marschall who looks like President Thornton. It is AWESOMELY COOL!People who love mysteries should read this book.

My son love the Ron Roy A - Z Mysteries. After reading this book, he said A - Z books were much better. A matter of personal preference, of course. :)

I gave these books to my surrogate granddaughter. She loved them. I got the first 3 books & she wants the rest of the series.
