I was looking for spider books for my nephew who loves spiders... These books are hard to find so glad had some... Great book, just not to thrilled with how little the book is... Great pics though...

I purchased for my 3 yr old because of his interest in spiders and he loves this book!! We have a few national geographic readers books and we enjoy all of them.I would like to have seen more facts in the book - my little one has a ton of questions when he looks at the pictures.

I showed this book to a 2nd grade class and they was a collective Ohhh! and Ahhh! everytime I turned the page!!!

Got this for my 2.5 year old granddaughter who had suddenly developed a fear of spiders. It's a wonderful book for older children, full of cool facts and colorful photos. But some of the photos are ferocious, and the book is clear about spiders as killers. Definitely not appropriate for my little one. But I can imagine a 7 year old boy or girl - who is not afraid of spiders - loving it.

I ordered this book for my 7 year old son who just loves spiders! He asked me for a book with chapters and lots of spiders. While it is hard to find chapter books about spiders, I think this book fits that bill. It has facts about spiders that are neat to my son (creepy to me) and the pictures are detailed and colorful! He loves this book, and doesn't put it down.

I did not make this purchase. My three year old did;) I actually don't like spiders at all, in fact they scare me. The pictures are close up and detailed, creepy really, but very informational. My son loves this book, though I wouldn't recommend this right before bedtime ;)

I like that it is both easy and clear in presentation but not "babyish" - exactly what my very inquisitive 4-year-old needs. The only thing I wish there were names of every single spider pictured in the book. My son asks every time and I am not ready to do my own research.

The whole national geographic readers series is an amazing reading opportunity for the early readers. Granted there are challenging sentences my 4 year old enjoys reading these over and over again. So far he has around 10 and we buy a new one every week. It's a great incentive for doing chores and it gets him to read more. Win win
