Good book for beginners. Words are constantly repeated into several different sentences through-out the book to familiarize your child with them for easy reading. Nice bold lettering. Pictures are nice as well and corresponds with the sentences for a good visual story. Not too long for starters and great for a bed time story. My child loves I Can Read books. They are fun for children and not intimidating to first time readers. I highly recommend this for your child. Delivery was fast and on time.

We range between loving and really liking Pete the Cat. Whether he's on a train trip, or too cool for school, or playing ball, or sharing his big lunch, or just being groovy, he's a family favorite. But this book has never taken off. Short summary - Pete eats a mushy brown banana and goes off bananas. (Side Note: everyone knows that what you do with mushy brown bananas is put them in pies and puddings.) Eventually he tries a banana again and likes them again. That's pretty much it. As I said, we don't have a lot of food issues, and of all the different Pete messages this one was the oddest.Putting that aside, this is still Pete and he's still appealing and groovy. If your kid is nuts for Pete or if you're a series completist this book seemed fine. If the family library only has room for a few Petes, though, I'd considering skipping this one.

My 4 year old daughter and 2 year old son love the Pete the Cat books. In fact, these were the first "I Can Read" books that my son liked. Now he is 3 and still loves them. I encourage him to read the names when I point them out so he can participate and start to get the feel of reading. I like the stories too. This is a good one because (SPOILER ALERT!) it involves a picky eater, who of course goes back to eating bananas in the end.

Pete is such a good story teller with a great moral to the story. Pete the Cat and the Bad Banana are no exception. Pete runs into an overripe banana. bananas are Petes favorite breakfast. Now Pete wants nothing to do with them and tries other things. They do not compare to his favorite bananas, so he gives bananas another try. I would imagine it a bit of a challenge for a beginning reader, but we enjoy reading it to our Granddaughter.

My son loves the Pete the Cat books. I hadn't seen the series prior to seeing them on , but my sons teacher evidently had read them to his Kindergarten class weekly. Overall I love that we can read these books together, some he can read more than I need to - I love the illustrations and the funny story lines. Pete the cat is a hit in our home for sure!

My children love the pete the cat books! We own almost all of them! They are cute catchy and fun! I can read them to my five year old as well as my two year old and keep both of their attention the whole time. This is one of their favorites so far, and always makes my daughter want to eat a banana! We will be ordering more pete the cat books as they come out! The shipping was nice and quick, and they arrived in perfect condition.

My kids were introduced to Pete the Cat at a friends house over the summer. They have since fallen in love with the books! They love to sit and read to one another while joking and laughing about the books. A great addition to any kids library!

My oldest son had this book and my youngest son fell in love with it. Great book, great price! It is a paperback, but it's very durable. We've had it for a few months now and read it at least once a day. My 3 year old "reads" it at least once a day.
