Our kindergarten-age grandson enjoys the humor of Splat, and this collection has 5 books he can easily carry when he visits us. Good for beginning readers. This is a good investment - timeless books to be passed on to younger siblings.
I love how short and easy each book is. It's perfect for busy moms & dads and new readers like my 4yr old. The only down side is each book incorporates a small group words into each story. At one point it works...then it sounds odd. It's kinda confusing and a bit silly saying"Now this is a shame. It's tame and lame!" Said Splat. Sounds off right? They try to use that grouping of words as much a possible so it starts to sound odd. But they are pretty cheap and a quick read. They are okay.
Our 6 year old reader loves them! I didn't check carefully enough and was a bit disappointed that these are "in the style of" Rob Scotton, by another author/illustrator-- but they are still fun.
My son received this item for Christmas and he loves to read these books! He had these books read to him in September and it is a great small collection of his favorite Splat books that aren't the holiday books.
Great packaging for gift. All the five books first few pages binding cracked. After few flip by kids pages will drop.
my kids love these boooks. Great beginner reader books! My kids thing Splat is so funny too. They love them.
As ecpected. Good quality cover and comes handy in a box for easy storage.About the content, as everyone knows it's a must have for a preschooler and my 4 year old enjoys reading it.
And me too :) Rob Scotton pictures are always perfect, so cute and kind, he is my favorite illustrator. The words are simple, it should be easy to start read for kids.
