This book allows children to use their imagination as they trace the mazes with their finger, which is great since there are no pencil or crayons necessary. The text is in a rhythym format which makes it more exciting for younger readers. There are also hidden pictures throughout the individual maze pages.
If you buy this book, be prepared to read it; over,and over, and over again.I cannot count the number of times this has been read in our home.I have had to tape the pages back together and yet they still request it.We love all the maze books by Patrick Merrell but the pipsqueak ones are our favorites.
Newspaper weight paper and its smaller than average size may have contributed to my first impression. My preschooler, who is a maze fan, didn't really get into this book. It looks almost like a larger book was reduced to fit, as the images are small. I don't know what it was, but it just wasn't a big hit.
