Our family enjoys this book because it uses a common situation (a lamp broken by a ball kicked in the house) to illustrate the importance of telling the truth. Especially appealling was the end- where the cubs learn that mother is more concerned with their honestey than their accidents. The message is that we don't need to be perfect, but we do need to tell the truth.

The Berenstain Bears books are my son's favorite this month (preferences at this age die quickly). Each of the books has a nice story to tell, with a morale that is not hard to communicate to a 3 or 4 year old. The good illustrations make reading the stories fun and the format of thebook is perfect for travel, when you don't need a 5 pound children's treasury to carry along as well.

When my 4-year old daughter started lying constantly we tried everything - lectures, books from the library about lying, loss of privileges, etc. When I found this book and read it to her, it was like a light bulb went off in her head. She finally understood and the lying stopped almost overnight. I'd recommend this book to any parent having trouble with a young child telling lies.

Wonderful! This book shows Brother and Sister are bored. Sister mentions some ideas, but Brother doesn't want to do any of them. Finally Brother tries to kick his soccer ball past Sister, but she blocks it. It knocks over Mama's favorite lamp. The cubs try to come up with a huge tale about what happened, but they never get the story straight. Finally they learn that honesty is better than lying.

My students absolutely love the Berestein Bears books!!! I teach kindergarten so this books is above their independent reading level. They love it when I read this book to them. There are life lessons in each of the Berestein Bear books, which I love. I think kids start learning how to lie around this age, so it is good to learn that you should always tell the truth. I would highly recommend this product. It is very reasonably priced and came in a timely manner. It is of excellent quality and I received this book new. Please note that I did NOT receive this book at a discounted price. I paid full price for this product. This is my honest review of this book. Please let me know how I am doing by voting "yes."

The Berenstain Bears and the Truth is a wonderful story for children of any ages. It teaches children a very important lesson, always to tell the truth no matter what and if a lie is told, it would always come back to haunt you. I greatly recommend this book for children.

I have a son that is strugging in kindergarten. His problems are the same as many others, at least I assume anyone else with a boy.He has trouble keeping his hands to himself. He has trouble listening on the first try.He has trouble staying on task and in the moment.Telling the truth (or at least not embellishing with a version of the truth)His focus is bad....he is a creative soul...super smart but easily bored.I bought a few books to read at bedtime to help reinforce the message of how important it is to follow the rules. This one is pretty great...good message and easy to understand/discuss after you are done reading.Ones that I like are Interrupting Chicken, Why Should I Listen, Even that Moose wont listen to Me. Hope that is helpful

I grew up loving to read the Berenstain Bears book series, so I have always wanted to get my children reading them as well. We have some of the other series books at home already, but thought this would be a great one to add to the collection because of the topic of the story. Unfortunately we have dealt with some issues with children not always telling the truth, and I have found that my children tend to listen better when it comes from someone other than mom or dad. Both of my kids love this book and have been able to learn more about the importance of telling the truth.
