Best Mommy/ Son time night reading in a long time. we would read a chapter a night and he would LOVE going to bed to hear more.Followed up with a video documentary on WG and he is in AWE. Loves the "Lady Bing" award!
My Grandson is only 12 years old, and by reading this book over and over he already knows who Wayne Gretzky is. I recommend this book to any 12 yr old, who is into Hockey, if nothing else, just for HOCKEY history.
My 8 year old LOVED this book! He is a hockey super fan and also likes the fun-to-read "Who Is" series. This one is, by far, his favorite (Who Is Jackie Robinson is a close 2nd). They are well-written, interesting books that even I, an adult and former elementary school teacher, enjoy reading with him. There are so many things to stop and talk about if you want to have deeper discussions, and they also do well on their own without any talk. The authors clearly understand how to relate adult figures to younger children.Our only gripe is that there is no "Who is Bobby Orr".
Im 10 and i hate reading but i just got sucked into this book and read it for 40 minutes and finished it. It was a really good boook
My son really enjoyed the book. He used it for his 4th grade class biography project and is a huge hockey fan so it's perfect. Our school has many of the "Who is" books and they are great for this reading level. Even my younger son enjoys the book.
My son read this for Accelerated Reader testing at school; the whole family learned about the Great One's life. An easy read for a 5th grader and interesting facts for the rest of the family.
This is a great read for the young hockey fan. My 11 year old son read the entire book in an afternoon and loved all the interesting facts and background information about Gretzky:)
Fun and easy to read! My children who can read on their own loved it! My other kids wanted it read to them everyday until we finished. Everyone thought it was great!
