This whole series of "Getting to Know" books is a wonderful introduction to the artists. I wish there were n more of them. I use them in my classroom, but these books would be a valuable addition to any home library.
I enjoyed reading about such an amazing lady, but expected the book to show more of her artwork. I always thought she lived in the meadow near my home when I was growing up ~ today I want to be inspired by her talent and be able to watercolor paint some beautiful piece like the ones that made her famous.
I love this series of books as a read aloud, or a classroom resource for the students. Full of information and humor, the students love them.
We all loved Grandma Moses by the end. I don't really like the cartoony picture that are inserted here and there. It seems to disrupt the continuity. It would be more interesting if the illustration of the life of the artist were done in the artist's style. But overall we really enjoyed it.
Perfect for a reference on my daughters school project requiring book references. Childs book filled with info for a quick 5 minute read. Fun illustration. Good synopsis of her life.
Grandma MosesI learned a lot from this primary book on famous artists. Good for young children just beginning to appreciate art.
I used this item to teach Art History. Very nice.
I live in an independent living community for senior citizens. I am using the book for information on a senior citizen who was very productive in her senior years in hopes of encouraging those I live with tobe productive.
