This is a lovely book with lots of information and lovely illustrations. I just wish I had noticed it only has 63 pages. It is a pricey book so I didn't feel it was worth the money. I will probably be returning it.

I love the DK books for my 5th/6th grade gifted classroom. I have about 60 of them and they are excellent nonfiction books. Most have AR levels from about 6.0-9.0 and have 1 AR point.Fabulous pictures, great information in such a succinct book, and the kids love them.

For those of you who like to read historical fiction or non fiction likeThe Prince orThe Passion of Artemesia, this Eyewitness book gives you all the background information you need to enjoy your reading on a much deeper level. It makes the period and its people come alive. The Eyewitness series is beautifully illustrated and meticulously researched. It combines extensive art history with politics and all of the important movements of the time period.I cannot recommend this book too highly-you will find your self using it over and over.

More than most DK books, this offering has well-developed text and operates almost as a stand-alone instruction guide. In-depth look at Renaissance art, with tie-ins to the Reformation in northern Europe and the political/historical developments across the 14th-16th centuries. Many nudes; not much eroticism.
