The pages crinkle with moisture. Does not work with watercolor or acrylics. Color pencil is too light because of the waxy paper. I haven't tried markers yet, but that is the last option before I get rid of this. Very disappointed. What a waste of money.
I LOVE this book. you really can color it in darkly with high quality pencils, and hang it in a window and it is so beautiful. I love taking natures beauty and enjoying the sun shining through it, makes it so bright and colorful. definite good buy.
I ordered this for our daughter for Christmas (thanks to it being on her Wish List!)She enjoyed coloring it. . .and she's 35! :)You are NEVER too old to color (as my Mom in her 80's says!)
I just received this item. WOW!!! So much more than I expected. I believe these pages, once colored, are going to be BEAUTIFUL. I am giving this as a gift but am going to order on for me. The pages are transparent and can be colored with crayons, paint, markers, etc...
The drawings in this "stained glass" coloring book are exquisite. I use artist-quality colored markers to color them, and the results are really beautiful. (There is one image per page, and the pages are translucent and waterproof, so colored markers work really well.)
More religious than I hoped for. The quality of the paper was nice, though. I suggest markers for a medium. They will be seen better when this is illuminated.
This is my favorite book out of all of them, but It doesn't matter which STAINED GLASS COLORING BOOKS you purchase from DOVER PUBLICATIONS...They are worth every penny....Beautifully rendered on delicate see through paper, each drawing allows you to use whatever medium you desire...whether it is colored pencils, markers, etc....You can even color on both sides of the drawing to give the picture a more textured look!! LOVE EVERY ONE I HAVE GOTTEN SO FAR & SO WILL YOU!! Preferred mediums used are: CRAYOLA, MARCO RAFFINE, & PRISMACOLOR Colored Pencils, STABILO, STAEDTLER, & SHARPIE Colored Markers, Gel ink pens (Glitter, Metallic, and Neon)..If you are a bit heavy handed like me, use the markers gently....They will render the true pigment if you go over the area twice....Also, allow the gel pens to dry before closing the book. If you are left handed like me, you need to be careful where you lay your hand. The markers and gel pens WILL rub off onto your hand and onto the drawing...You can easily color over it, this is just a small forewarning....
This is a great book for adults as well as kids. Lots of nice patterns and designs. The same is for all Dover Design books I have purchased.
