25th Anniversary Edition Linnea has been in Paris. And she has visited the painter Claude Monet's garden! She even stood on the same little Japanese bridge that Monet painted so often in his pictures. In Paris, Linnea got to see many of the real paintings. Now she can understand what it means to be called an Impressionist, and she knows a lot about Monet's life in the pink house where he lived with his eight children. Twenty-five years after its original publication, this celebration of the wonder of art is available once again in an enlarged keepsake edition. The joy and inspiration Linnea discovers in Monet's garden will be eagerly embraced by a new generation of readers. "Original and charming."—New Yorker

I read this book years ago and loved it. I read it again and remembered why it was a favorite of mine back then. So many photos and details of Monet's life, family, art history, paintings, home, etc. You actually feel like you are traveling with Linnea and Mr. Bloom. It will entice you to travel to France and Monet's garden. I hope I can experience it also.

This book is for an older child who is interested in art. The book does a great job of weaving the story of Linnea with facts about Monet. It would be hard to read as a story book at bedtime, but great for an art inspired child.

My daughter had this book and doll when she was little. I came across the doll and my dog had eaten the brim of the hat. I am expecting my first grandchild-a girl-and I ordered this for when she learns to read. I love the are work and the doll is adorable. Can't wait until she is old enough for storytime!

I purchased this book at the recommendation of a teacher friend of mine. She had loved this book in her classroom. I have a granddaughter named Linnea who loves to read, loves art and loves to learn. I thought the book seemed like a delightful way to learn about Monet.

I bought this book for my daughter when she was 8 years old and I bought it at the Metro. Art Museum in NYC. She is now 35 and I just sent it to another 8 year old. My daughter and I are going to Paris in a few weeks and the one place to go on our trip is Monet's garden. I'd say this book made quite an impression on my daughter!!

Easy to see why this is a classic: Linnea is a delight, someone any child would want as a friend, her enthusiasm for Monet's Garden totally infectious. A wonderful introduction to expressionism for anyone, adult or child.

My older daughter was given this book as a birthday gift a long time ago and now I give it as birthday gifts to my daughters friends. I just bought this book for my youngest daughter who is 10. She loved it! The art work and the story line. It is a history of Monet told in a story by a little girl. You will not be disappointed in this purchase.

I bought this for my granddaughter. I read the first few pages to her and when I turned the page that showed the painting with the Japanese bridge she applauded. She was introduced to Claude Monet in her Kindergarten art class and speaks of him all the time. She has tried, rather successfully for a 5 yr. old, to copy his paintings. We both loved the book.
