Who Was Pablo Picasso?

Over a long, turbulent life, Picasso continually discovered new ways of seeing the world and translating it into art. A restless genius, he went through a blue period, a rose period, and a Cubist phase. He made collages, sculptures out of everyday objects, and beautiful ceramic plates. True Kelley's engaging biography is a wonderful introduction to modern art.

This book is for young children. I do not understand why so much focus was put on Picasso's love life. Young children do not need to read and have to understand how many lovers or wives this famous artist had. I think True Kelly should have focused on his life regarding art.

This book was super easy to read! It only took me 3 days to read and I'm only in fifth grade! I give this book a 5 out of 5 rating because it was so easy to read and it gave me information that I didn't even know and it started out like you thought that it was going to be all words no pictures, when actually it's quite the opposite!

This was a gift for my son's elementary art teacher. She requested art books for her classroom for the kids to read. She liked the "Who Was" books the best. She said the 1st grade kids were able to read these and understand them.

I read maybe 10 of these in the series that I bought for my 8 year old daughter, they're so much fun! You learn quite a lot and I love the time line at the end of each books. Great books to expend general cultures in children and adults!

Love all of the Who Was...books! Very interesting and short enough to keep the shortest attention spans.

I bit too over simplistic. More info on his motivation would help.
