All the Mike Venezia books are abfab. I read them to all of my classes K-7. The cartoons are great. The story keeps everybody's attention. They are informative and give a clear picture of the artists. Would recomend all of them
I am pleased with my purchase of this book. I wanted something that not only I would love but something my kids could understand and enjoy as well. I love all things Frida Kahlo but do not have much of her in my home library. This is a lovely addition to it. For the price I paid it was exactly what was expected. Soft cover...a little flimsy...only a few pages long but the pictures were excellent and it is perfect for small children to look at. Happily pleased with my purchase!!
This book -- along with every other one in the "Getting to Know the World's Famous Artists" series -- is a fantastic purchase all around. It puts a creative spin on the teaching of art to children and makes the artists' stories come to life in a "current" and cool way -- using graphics/cartoons, great photos of masterpieces and easy-to-understand language. My son is 8 years old and loves all of the books -- I think they are appropriate for a range of ages (4 or 5 yrs to 10 / 11 / 12 yrs.)
