My son loves trucks (he's 15 mos. old) and he loves this book. It is his favorite. Definitely buy it for your little truck lover too (whenever my son sees a bulldozer, he now says "bull" after reading this book over and over!).

I would really like this book but unfortunately the author uses the wrong names for some of the construction equipment. We will continue to enjoy the book until my daughter learns to read. After that...The most glaring misname is the crawler EXCAVATOR which Tana calls a crawler backhoe. The wheeled backhoe is referred to as a backhoe. Plus forklift is normally used for the small machines you think of in warehouses not the larger construction site equipment. For those who are really interested the other industry names are Manlift (cherry picker), Telescopic Handler (forklift), Telescopic Handler being used like a crane (forklift crane).

I agree with another reviewer that commented that the names of the vehicles aren't necessarily the best ones to use. I still gave this 3 stars, because my 2 year old carries this book around with him and points out "his tractors" on every page... but we don't read it.

Construction Zone is the first "truck book" that I purchased for my son. I bought it for him when he was about 15 months. It is by far his favorite book. I need to purchase another one because the pages have been taped so many times. The only problem that I would have with the book is the quality of paper. It's not really sturdy for the age group that reads it. But I also should consider the HEAVY use that our copy receives. The photographs in it are perfect and it names each piece of equipment. It's a very basic book that shows all the basic construction equipment along with a garbage truck. I think it is a fine purchase.

This is the most enjoyed "truck" or "digger" book by my 2 year old grandson. We have taken every truck book possible out of library and went on to purchase Construction Zone because it was the favorite. The photographs are exceptional, clear and interesting. The "near and far" comparisons are challenging and enjoyable for the young "reader." My grandson spends time going through the book by himself enjoying each picture immensely. Highly recommended.

We've borrowed this book from the library so many times, I gave in and finally bought our own copy. My 19 month old son loves this book and reads it several times a day. Its the first book he has actually taken a interest in. I like the fact it has real pictures of the machines instead of drawings and that it has few words -- perfect for the attention span of a toddler.

This has been my 2 yr. old's favorite for about a year now. Although some of the names of the equipment are slightly different in our region, and although I don't necessarily find the photographs spectacular, he adores this book. And he has lots of truck and heavy equipment books.

This is an excellent book for your toddler. It has been my 17-month-old's favorite book for 3 months in a row! He can't get enough of the construction vehicles. And, now, he and I both get excited when we see a "rubber-tired backhoe" out on the road!
