I am glad I took a chance on this book however, I don't see this at all as Level -1 Beginning to Read book. My son is an advanced reader and will be able to read this with or without me. However, for a child who is "Beginning to Read" I really see very little here to encourage the child's participation vs the parent reading to the child.
Great book for little ones that love construction vehicles. My son loves all of his book, but this is one of his favs.
