I bought this book, just because it's from Nat. Geo.I am really disappointed by the size of the book. Its very small. I have not noticed the size of the book specified in the details section. You will not feel like it has 32 pages. Only few pictures shows the trucks fully. It should be great if they can add more pages and increase the size of the book.Photos are good. But in general does not get the expected satisfaction. In order to help the publisher to improve this book, I give only two stars.

This is fundamentally a good book for kids. My son loves reading about trucks and enjoys this book every time I read it. For that alone I'm tempted to give it five stars. It has two drawbacks though, each of which cost it a star.First, the editors insisted on digitally adding a narrator named Slick, a guy in his late 20's who says he drives a Big Rig. Slick appears throughout the book standing in front of trucks, dancing on top of them, and generally being annoying. He adds nothing to the book except a narration which is entirely unnecessary. See Trucks' sister volume, Caterpillar to Butterfly, for a 5-star book without adding a host, "Charlie the Caterpillar"Second, the author occasionally use vocabulary which is not appropriate. Insisting a truck has "major mojo", for example. The last time I heard the word Mojo was in the second Austin Powers movie, and it didn't make any sense there either.Ultimately, Trucks is worth buying for any vehicle-loving kid. Aside from the usual truck types -- dump, garbage, fire, transport, etc., Trucks includes a page on a million dollar dump truck big enough to hold 20 school busses. Any children's book that makes me stare in awe will certainly do the same thing for kids.

I was amazed with this purchase.First, I have never viewed a National Geographic Readers book. This book is astonishing. The color is vibrant, the pictures are interesting and the entire book is for level 1 readers. So, if your youngster is not reading yet, he/she will read soon with this book. Then, of course, packaged and shipped it with all their typical speed and excellence. It was unharmed by the holiday shipping and it was delivered in a timely manner.I will be buying more National Geographic Readers books for my grandchildren. These books are beautiful and interesting. They hold the child's interest and he keeps coming back for another reading of it.

3 year old was so, so, so excited to see this book show up. Going to be one of the favorites! Now he wants one about trains, and maybe boats too! We did purchase the Planes book of this series also loved.

My youngest loves trucks!!! We first borrowed this book from the library and kept renewing it. I knew we needed it for the collection!! My kids love the jokes and tell them over and over plus we learned about trucks!!

We LOVE all the national geographic kids books! This book was so cute - so many details for kids to learn all about different kinds of trucks and all the details of inside and out of trucks! My boys LOVED It!

I bought several of this books for my children, they love them so much that they have now a big collection, and I love the fact that they actually read them and are learning a lot, they come with different reading levels for each child reading skills.

It was one of the best buy I made for my little 2 yr old truck fanatic grandson! It is the perfect size to take into the car, it is the perfect size for him to handle by himself and shlep around the house. The pictures are gorgeous as well and the trucks... they are tremendous!
