My three-year-old twins love the Little Owl books so when we heard Little Owl's Day during story time, I knew we would be adding it to our library! At the time, the board book edition was not available and, since my kids are still in the slightly destructive, toddler age, I decided to wait for it. I'm so glad we did because it has already been a hit in our household! If you are familiar with Little Owl's Night, the board book version is printed in a similar style. They both have the same number of pages and the books are also the same size so they look nice on a bookshelf together. This book is also printed on thick, durable pages that are perfect for the toddler era.The story in this book is really great for kids and makes it fairly easy for them to understand. Each page has a couple sentences so it's not too much and not too little of a story. Little Owl's Day is the story of Little Owl and the animals he sees during the day. He normally isn't awake during the day but he is woken up by a noisy squirrel and can't go back to sleep. He decides to explore his surroundings and see all of the animals who are sleeping at night when he is awake. Some of the same animals in Little Owl's Night appear in this book so children get to see what those animals do during the day.I think Little Owl's Day is a wonderful book for young children and, if they like Little Owl's Night, they will most likely enjoy this one as well. My kids already love it and we like to read both before bedtime. Little Owl's Day isn't necessarily a bedtime book but the story ends at nighttime so you can definitely use this for bedtime. If you read Little Owl's Day and Little Owl's Night one after the other, they will help paint a picture for children about what Little Owl does during the cycle of the day. We often read these books before bedtime and I see us enjoying this one for a long time. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a good book for a young child!

This is hands down mine and my son's favorite author. We pre-ordered this and got it ON the day it was released. It definitely did not disappoint. I love love love her books and so does my little man.

My little one loves little owls night, even though the price gave me a bit of a pause I purchased the book.He adores this book...from the first line he was entranced and had me going back again and again to read the book.I think this book is best enjoyed after reading little owls night as they have a natural progression, the characters and the illustrations are simply lovely. Highly recommend this book, one of the best children's books I've read and enjoyable for both the little ones and the adult reading.

You can't go wrong with anything by this author. Little Owl's Night & Octopus Alone have been my almost-4 yr old son's favorites for years. Little Owl's Day was such a satisfying follow-up with some very sweet surprises throughout. The art is dreamy & her style of writing us unique. She doesn't dumb anything down, which only helps to expand his imagination & understanding of language. We just started a new preschool & noticed they had Little Owl's Night on the shelves, so we bought another copy of Little Owl's Day as a gift to the class. We can't wait for her next release!

i am an avid reader, and am always anticipating the release of a new book by my favorite authors. i think this is the first time i have ever anticipated the release of a board book, probably more than the new Harry Potter book even. my daughter loves little owl, we have read little owls night so much we have gone through two copies and if we one day could not find it i think the world might stop spinning. to say i was tired of reading is an understatement, i have it memorized, my 2 year old has it memorized, the dog has it memorized, so i was so happy to see a new little owl book. its super cute and bright, with new animals, and my daughter loves it just as much. thankfully since buying this my daughter likes to branch off a little more, so I'm not reading it 12 times a day, but it has definitely been loved.

I adore reading this book's predecessor, "Little Owl's Night" to my daughter. From the first weeks after she was born, that book seemed to catch her interest & it is still a favorite now, at 9 months old. I was excited to hear this follow up was being released & we enjoy it just as much! A simple story & beautiful pictures make it perfect for a bedtime, or anytime story for her, & I imagine it will remain a favorite for years to come!

This book is adorable and a great compliment to Little Owl's Night. Both books transition from night to day/day to night and show the animals Little Owl would encounter during said time of day. During the day, Little Owl sees a rainbow, butterflies, deer, and even bear from Grumbly Cave, though now bear is awake and fishing rather than sleeping. The images are beautifully drawn with bright, vivid colors to capture the child's attention. My son is only 2 month old but enjoys looking at both books as he listens to me reading them.I highly recommend both Little Owl's Day and Night as a complimentary set.

Love this Book! Well constructed hard book. The story is cute and the artwork is clean with lots of color for the little one to stay engaged. Lots of forest animals to teach the little one as well while going through the story. Also bought the companion book "Little Owl's Night" and like it as well. I would buy both again, and would be happy to give them as a gift to a new parent as well.
