Purchased this book to read to my preschoolers when we have our camping theme. Although the "I Can Read" books are designed for beginning readers, they can be PERFECT for preschool age children! Not too many words, easy to follow, and they can always answer a variety of questions about the story. Perfect for our camping theme and talking about fishing!
I got my daughter her first fishing pole and tackle box for Easter and got this book to add in with them. She loves it! It's a really cute book to explain fishing and uses simple words for her to understand (she's only 4). She can't read it by herself yet, but it's fun to read to her and the illustrations are really cute. I grew up reading The Berenstain Bears, so it was neat to read it to her. Now she's really excited to go fishing!
My grandson, who is four, loves the Berenstain Bears I Can Read! level 1 books. I have purchased several of the books in this series for him every month and he enjoyed Gone Fishin'! as much as the others. He can't read these books yet, but enjoys retelling the stories.
It's the Berenstain Bears. What else it there to say? Other than I am very happy my grandsons like having their stories read to them. Hopefully they will pick up on the values in the stories.
As a children’s author myself (“Fishing Cousins”) I found this to be a wonderful book. My grand children loved the book and keep rereading it, great work.
This book will teach you how to catch more fish. Blueberries and strawberries are also good, but not in this book.
My granddaughter loved this book. She's a first grade reader and was able to make her way through it fine.
