This word search book was just what I was looking for for my first graders. It gives them extra practice on identifying and spelling sight words in a fun and different way! Check out the other books in the series.
I was excited to share this with my 4 year old niece. She is very bright and often has said she wants to read. She knows most of her letters by sight, learned when she was 3. She speaks incredibly well and constantly asks questions about everything.What is so poor about this book AND the other two by the same author is the fact that the words in the list are spelled with a capital letter for the FIRST LETTER and lowercase for the remainder. In the word search ALL LETTERS ARE CAPITALIZED. If this was done thinking it is okay for a 4 year old, age says 4 to 6, then why would this be considered MADE EASY. What makes this completely unacceptable, however, is the fact that an ' i ' in lower case is written in the word search as an ' I ' in upper case using the font that CLEARLY looks like an 'L' in lower case ' l ' Notice the ' l ' and ' I ' look like the same letter because of the font. How does this help a child to learn....they will struggle and get frustrated. This is just one example. I noticed this IMMEDIATELY when I showed my niece the first set of words. Why was this thought to be a way to make reading easy????
Wonderful Word Search Book. I work with a very special down syndrome little guy who loves word search books. He smiled when he saw this book and opened it right away to start working on it. This book is easy for him to practice his words and he also can work totally be himself. Thanks!
I have a 5 year old that loves word searches but the ones his 11 year old brother does are just too hard! I ordered this book for him and am so glad I did! They are perfect...not so hard he loses interest or gets frustrated, but not so easy he finds all of the words with just a glance. He is in kindergarten and can read most of the words too so he also gets some reading and spelling practice in without even realizing it!
This is the first word search book that I have bought for my twins that are in kindergarten. It is terrific for spelling practice. They have done really well and can complete the word searches quickly. I highly recommend this book.
My 7 year old son loves word finds! This book was perfect for him. He prefers working in this book over playing with most of his toys! I have ordered other books in this series, and they are all great! I highly recommend them!
Got this for my 5 year old granddaughter and she asked me to make copies of the pages so she can do them over and over. She is learning to read better.
Nice to keep little kids busy while learning. They really think they are important since they have books like their parents.
