I bought two of these for 12 and 10 year olds, to bring on vacation, including a long plane trip. This book is physically so small, it is impractical. Further, many of the clues refer to celebrities which kids this age would have no idea who they are like, "Meg Ryan," or, "Sara Michelle Geller." Or a song by "Outkast" in 2003?! At $5.35 each, save your money and go to The Dollar Store.
Excellent children's crossword puzzle book. My 9 year old grandson is enjoying each one of this type that I bought. Very good for his vocabulary and very educational.
Having bought this for a first-grader and then realizing it was a little ahead of her time, I nevertheless thought the puzzles interesting and challenging. However, one would have to break the spine to have it lay flat enough to use easily; would have even considered tearing out the pages had she been old enough to enjoy it. Content: good. Format: not so much,
TRIP PAYNE HAS DONE IT AGAIN. HE CREATES SUCH FANTASTIC CROSSWORD PUZZLES FOR SMART KIDS, AND FOR ADULTS, I'M 65. SOME PEOPLE HAVE THE NACK FOR WORKING HARD CROSSWORD PUZZLES, BUT NOT ME. I HAVE PROBABLY ALL OF TRIP PAYNE'S PUZZLE BOOKS. THEY ARE OF EVERYDAY WORDS, THAT EVERYBODY KNOWS, AND GIVES YOU THE FUN OF WORKING CROSSWORD PUZZLES, AND KEEPS YOUR BRAIN ACTIVE. I RECOMMEND IT TO ALL AGES.
Loved this product. Can do these crossword puzzles and have fun with my aging friends. I also keep the crosswords in my purse when I have long waiting periods at the doctor's etc. Will purchase more of these products in the Trip Payne series.
I bought this crossword puzzle book for my 8 year old daughter. She loves it. She needs some help, but can do a lot of the puzzle by herself. I am a "math person" and have never been good at crossword puzzles, but I enjoy doing these myself! It is very relaxing for me and they are very easy. I would highly recommend this book and I will buy another one when we are finished with this.
My daughter is 7 and these puzzles are right up her alley. She has already enjoyed several hours with the book.
My 7 and 5 year olds do this book, with a little help from us. They are really great for learning and and a fun crossword for them to do when while my husband and I do the crosswords from the newspaper.
