This interesting biography with excellent illustrations and primary source photographs provides facts and fun! An excellent index and table of contents provides easy navigation. The chapters are well-written, beginning with a interest-grabbing first chapter describing Edison's introduction of the electric lights to the public. Historical events and settings build a broad understanding of the lives and times of inventors and builders who paved the way for modern times.

The wording and spacing and the number of lines per page were just right for kids around 9-12 years or younger. The colored pictures added more life and made it more interesting! Would love to get more in the series! It is also great for adults who don't want to read 300 pages to get the essentials.

I read this to my six year old son who loved it. There are funny stories from Edison's youth, a chart that shows Morse code and lots of other interesting tidbits.

Excellent for ADHD kids to identify with high achieving Thomas Edison who had ADHD. Good to call ADHD The Edison Gene, or some title like that, ot to stigmatize with the word Attention Difficit HyperActivity Disorder. I hate the words Difficit and Disorder when many people diagnosed with this condition are HIGH achievers'

My son enjoyed learning about Thomas Edition. I, as a parent, enjoyed that book makes references to the fact that Edition and others had made several attempts at inventing a light bulb. I believe that children don't always realize that somethings aren't going to be successful the first time around.

I gave this as a gift to my 8 year grandson and from the moment he started reading it he couldn't put it down. The information was easy for kids to understand and didn't have to go into too much detail. Kept my grandson interested.

My 6 year old read this cover to cover many many times. Plan on getting all in the series. thank you.

I am very impressed with the "Time For Kids" series. I like how they bring biographical and non-fiction information to young children at a level that is appropriate for them to understand. The photos are great and they cover a wide variety of topics. I bought quite a number of them for my classroom.
