I am surprised no one has reviewed this great book. I borrowed this from the library for my 4 year old son. He loves me reading this book to him. The author makes it so easy to understand graphs even a 4 year old can understand. After reading many times, now he says, "Mom, look I drew a Venn Diagram." He used a blank paper and drew an X, Y line. Then he asked me and my husband to put our foot down for him to trave on the paper. Next thing we knew, he's got 3 foot prints on the paper. Then he said, "Dad's got the biggest foot." It's a really great book. I am so glad I found this book by accident.
I concur with the first review, by Linda. This is a favorite book in our household, not only a favorite math-for-kids book. Ms. Leedy's remarkable skills in explaining math are matched by her storytelling and her art. We also recommend Fraction Action by the same author.
This book did not meet my expectations. I expected more after reading, "Mapping Penny'stocks World", which was an excellent book on mapping. I found this graphing book to be aimed at a higher grade level and even then it was rather vague
Okay so this is one of my favourite children's books of all time - my 5 year old loves it too. It show practical ways to use many different graphs in a fun and kids friendly way. We got this out from the library first and then bought it because it was so good.
Super cute addition to my 1st grade unit on graphing! The pictures are adorable and kept the students engaged! Thanks!
Great book to help with graphing.
A great story that the children love to listen to and a great way to keep reading in math. Was able to create some great lessons from this book!
I haven't used the book yet in my classroom, but it was in excellent shape and it looks like it will add to my math curriculum quite well.
