Got these Hank books for our 8 - 9 year old Grandson who did not like to read.... now you can't stop him.... he even woke up two hours early before the school bus came in order to read more chapters.... these Hank books by Henry Winkler and their special Font have opened up a whole new world for our Grandson..... Thank you Fonzie...... Get these books, you will not be disappointed even if your child is an avid reader... Highly Recommended to all.....
My grandson, who is 6 yrs old, loved this book. It was his first chapter book in first grade. I ordered another, I see he really enjoying reading now. The font in the new series of books has helped improve his reading score. I am so happy I found these books.
My 8 yr old was recently diagnosed with dyslexia and hated reading because he didn't think he could. I came across the Here's Hank series and my son is on book 5 in two months. He loves them, and I love the fact my son is reading!
This book was recommended by Henry Winkler, to me on Television show so I bought it and was interested in the Font the book was presented in which is good for people with Dyslexia I have my own problems so I thought I should try this book, it's the first book I've read in a year. With that said I recomend it, I passed it on to my schoolteacher wife for students that may struggle with reading.
This is a fantastic book series for children with Dyslexia. My son is in the first grade; and although can not read this himself; he loves to be read too and can directly relate with the feelings of frustration that Hank has.
Summary: In this prequel to the Hank Zipzer series, second-grader Hankâs younger sister Emily wants to have a reptile show for her birthday party. When their parents say they canât afford the local performer, Hank decides to put together his own show. Unfortunately, he has trouble learning how to do the magic trick his friend Frankie tries to teach him. The party looks like it will turn out to be a disaster, but in the end, Hank is able to save the day.Pros: This is a funny story with short chapters and lots of illustrations. Itâs written with a font called Dyslexie (www.dyslexiefont.com) which is designed to make reading easier for kids like Hank who have dyslexia.Cons: If you were born before 1973, the name Henry Winkler will trigger a âjump the sharkâ flashback to the Fonz.
My 8-year old loves this book! She has dyslexia and the font helps her read fluently. It is amazing and a true answer to our prayers! I wish more books were printed in this font. We will continue to purchase every Hank book!
My granddaughter and I had great fun reading this story together and I would recommend it to others. It was imaginative and interesting and we almost had to read it in one sitting but did stretch it into the next day.
