Where Is Mount Rushmore?
Read Free Books and Download eBooks

It was world-famous sculptor Gutzon Borglum's dream to carve sixty-foot-high likenesses of four presidents on a granite cliff in South Dakota. Does that sound like a wacky idea? Many at the time thought so. Borglum faced a lot of opposition and problems at every turn; the blasting and carving carried out through the years of the Great Depression when funding for anything was hard to come by. Yet Mount Rushmore now draws almost three million visitors to the Black Hills every year. This is an entertaining chronicle of one man's magnificent obsession, which even today sparks controversy.

My son loved it. He has every book in the Who was / What was series and loves all of them. They are easy now for his reading level (he is in 6th grade) but he still likes them anyways for the info. My son said it was not as interesting as some of the people books but still informative and good. He recommends the DDay book and Pearl Harbor

For the school library & the children love this series

Kids in 4 / 5 combo class love these books! we have many titles in series in my classroom. Good resource for reports, as very readable.

I chose 5 stars because the book had lots of detail. I liked when it said about the secret passage behind the rock. I recommend this book to my friends

We love these books. My child is 7 and has read over 50 of the Who is/what is/where is series. I'd love to see them bundled and sold together.

This entire series is wonderful. I use it as a read aloud to my kindergarten students during our United States unit.

Great for biographies at fourth grade

Our grandson loves this series
