Artist - Selina Fenech Publisher - Fairies and Fantasy Pty LtdPages - 102BookMy first thought when I saw this book was 'oh it's so cute and little!'. But for a little book, it has a lot within it. At 19.8cm x 12.9 cm (7.8 x 5 inches) and 102 pages, this book was designed for portability. The cover is a matte softcover, decorated with a coloured design from the book in a limited colour palette. The spine is glue bound, giving it a good amount of reinforcement for traveling without making the pages inaccessible. It is quite pliable straight away, which is a bonus, as some images do enter the spine, making it difficult to reach the last parts of the image. The images are single sided, and the paper is bright white and has a moderate amount of texture. Coloured pencils lay down quite well on the paper, and blend well with each other. I experienced a moderate amount of shadowing, but no bleeding with fineliners and waterbased markers. Alcohol markers will bleed, so be sure to have some paper or card between the pages you're working on to protect the next image from bleedthrough.ImagesUnlike Selina Fenechs precious books, this book does not contain two each of twenty five images, but 50 different images. The images are not unique to this book however, having been taken from all four of Selinas previous books. There is an equal variety taken from Fairy Art, Mermaids, Enchanted and Fairy Companions. This leads to a huge variety of images within the overarching theme of fantasy. Each image is representative of Selina Fenechs trademark art style, from the gentle fairies, to the drifting mermaids, to dragons and unicorns. Line thickness remains moderate throughout the book, with little variance throughout.
